Male Pattern Baldness
Male-pattern baldness is the most common type of male hair loss, affecting 6.5 million men in the UK. It starts with thinning of the hair, followed by wider hair loss. For a few men, this process starts as early as the late teens. By the age of 60, most men have some degree of hair loss. It is usually inherited and caused by oversensitive hair follicles. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is produced by the male hormone testosterone which causes the follicles to shrink and eventually stop functioning.
Receding Hairline
It is called male-pattern baldness because it follows a pattern, usually starting with a receding hairline. Hair then thins on the crown and temples which leaves a horseshoe shape of hair around the back and sides of the head. If you have male-pattern baldness, there’s little you can do to prevent it from happening. Treatments can slow down the process, but there’s no cure.
The Savin Scale developed by Dr Ronald Savin in the mid 1990s is considered one of the best ways to assess the different stages of hair loss.

Other Male Hair Loss Conditions
We are also experienced in male hair loss conditions including trichotillomania, telogen effluvium and cancer hair loss.
