Yes, with most short hairstyles there are multiple different looks you can try out.  A buzz cut or seriously short haircut offers fewer options, but slightly longer short hair can be straightened, curled, slicked back, texturised, or even given a cool quiff!

Absolutely!  More and more models and celebrities are rocking a variety of short hair looks.  Simply take a look at Instagram or TikTok for more inspiration!

We think there are plenty of reasons why now is the time to go for the chop!  Here are our top ones:

#1. Styling Short Hair Is Much Easier!

Short hair can be fun to style using styling products alone!  Speak to your Simone Thomas stylist for recommendations from our Davines range.

#2. Save Time On Washing and Drying!

Cut down your styling time with a short hair cut!  Great whether you're dashing to work or enjoying your summer holidays.

#3. Short Hair Frames Your Face

Don't hide under long locks!  Having short hair can enhance your natural features such as highlighting cheek bones, jaw line and neck. It is also a fabulous way to create a bold statement!

#4. Keep Cool For Summer

Embrace the summer heat with a cool and edgy short hair style!

#5. Short Hair Can Be Healthy Hair

Maintain your new short style with regular visits to your Simone Thomas stylist to keep your hair in shape and encourage healthy hair growth.  We can recommend the perfect products to keep your hair bouncy and shiny.

Whether your hair is naturally blonde or has been bleached or lightened, it will need some TLC to look its best.   Naturally blonde hair can tend to be more affected by environmental factors such as UV rays, chlorine and pollution.

If your hair has been bleached or lightened, it has been subjected to chemical stress which can weaken the hair fibre.  This is especially so if the chemical treatment has been coupled with heat or mechanical stress.

We recommend the Heart of Glass range of products from Davines as they were specifically designed to protect the strength and shine of blonde hair.

We recommend using a blue shampoo and conditioner.  Heart of Glass shampoo and conditioner contains a natural blue pigment from the Jagua fruit.  This balances the colour of your blonde hair whilst maintaining its shine.

Yes, it's fine to use Heart of Glass shampoo and conditioner for every wash.  There's no risk that the pigment will deposit on your hair turning it blue!

This depends on your hair type and condition.  Generally we do recommend conditioning after every wash, but if you have fine hair which is not damaged, and find conditioner can weigh it down, leaving it lank, there are alternatives.  We suggest trying Instant Bonding Glow, which is like a serum, offering conditioning effects and protection without weighing the hair down.

You could also try occasional conditioning treatments the salon.

Ask your stylist for a Colour Glaze toner to keep your blonde hair looking bright and beautiful.

A Graduated Glaze is a toning service we recommend every 3 to 4 weeks.  We can either Glaze UP to increase the intensity of tone or Glaze DOWN to neutralise unwanted brassiness or warmth.

Trichology is the scientific study of the hair and scalp and a trichologist is someone who specialises in hair loss & thinning hair and provides hair loss treatments.

At Simone Thomas hair loss clinic in Westbourne, we are not just experienced in hair loss, we are certified experts who can provide the best possible hair loss treatments with proven results.

Simone Thomas has over 10 years’ experience in hair loss, with a global reputation for successfully diagnosing and treating various male and female hair loss conditions, as well as hair loss in children.

The causes of hair loss in men are becoming more widely recognised, as well as the impact on a man’s confidence and self esteem. Male hair loss conditions include male pattern baldness, receding hairlines, cancer, alopecia, traction alopecia and medication. We can provide solutions for hair loss in men in a confidential and relaxed setting.

There are various severities of female hair loss. The most common cause of extreme shedding and hair loss in women is female pattern baldness, which could be caused by ageing, pregnancy, hereditary factors or medications. Alopecia, traction alopecia, cancer and trichotillomania are also causes. Simone Thomas Salon offers a variety of solutions for female hair loss and identify unique ways to increase your confidence.

The number of hair strands normally lost in a day varies, but on average it’s around 100. In order to maintain a normal volume, hair must be replaced at the same rate at which it is lost. The first signs of hair thinning that women will often notice are more hairs than usual left in the hairbrush after brushing or in the basin after shampooing. Styling can also reveal areas of thinning, such as a wider parting or a thinning crown.

Children can suffer both permanent and temporary hair loss. We understand the frustration felt by both the parent and child, and can discuss options in a comfortable and relaxed setting.

The side effects of some medicines can cause your hair to thin or fall out. Please talk to your GP if you suffer any side effects from taking medication. Also book in for a consultation at Simone Thomas hair loss clinic in Bournemouth so we can help with your hair needs. We are highly trained trichologists with experience in dealing with hair loss, thinning hair and scalp disorders.

Alopecia is widely known, yet there are huge variations of the condition that affect people for a short-term, or ongoing basis. Alopecia Areata, Scarring Alopecia, Anagen Effluvium and Telogen Effluvium are all hair loss conditions recognised by Simone Thomas Clinic, and we have a variety of non-surgical treatments to help.

Traction alopecia is a form of alopecia, or gradual hair loss, caused by wearing your hair in a particularly tight hairstyle such as a ponytail, pigtail or braids.

We are the leading transgender salon in Bournemouth and understand the obstacles the transgender community face when it comes to hair. Our salon offers transgender clients a place of sanctuary and support where we will work with you to create the hair you’ve been dreaming of. Read more about our transgender hair services here.

Whether hair loss is reversible or not depends entirely on its cause. There are many reasons why you may be experiencing hair loss. Read our article about hair loss to find out more.

Trichotillomania, also known as trich, is when someone cannot resist the urge to pull out their hair. They may pull out the hair on their head or in other places, such as their eyebrows or eyelashes.

The sudden, diffuse hair loss from all over the scalp is called telogen effluvium and can be the result of improper nutrition, stress, hormonal upsets and pregnancy. A reduction in your hair’s diameter can also be influenced by these things, but is most often due to genetics, follicle sensitivity to hormones, and to age. Traumas such as major surgery, poisoning, and severe stress can result in telogen effluvium where many hairs enter the resting phase at the same time, causing shedding and subsequent thinning.

The most common cause of hair loss in women we see is anaemia and ferritin deficiency (iron deficiency).

Free consultations are available to cancer patients (hospital paperwork must be provided). A distressing side effect of chemotherapy to treat cancer is hair loss. We make it our mission to help sufferers feel themselves by offering partial or full hair loss treatments and solutions. Another cancer treatment that can cause hair loss is radiotherapy. Hair loss can occur in partial areas or all over the body. We can provide advice about how to deal with the hair loss and potential solutions during the treatment.

Whether you’re experiencing partial hair loss, full hair loss, temporary hair loss or repeating hair loss, we have a solution for you. After a personal consultation, each treatment will be uniquely tailored to suit you and hair styled to your preference. Treatment options might include a physical scalp treatment such as PRP Therapy or microdermabrasion, a nutritional plan, hair loss products, extensions, hair volumiser, wig, toupee or integrated lace system.

We do indeed. The team at Simone Thomas hair loss clinic in Westbourne are specialists in finding, fitting, cutting and styling a range of human hair and synthetic wigs and toupees. Find out more about our wig and toupee services here.

Your first step is to book in for a consultation at Simone Thomas Hair Loss Clinic in Westbourne. We will then send you a detailed health questionnaire to be completed prior to your appointment. You will be asked to answer questions on various topics such as family history, health, nutrition, lifestyle, diet, stress levels, medication and other factors which you feel could be a cause.

The first hour of your consultation will include a thorough examination of your scalp and hair. Your hair specialist will then provide suggestions for improvement and will follow-up with an email giving further advice and tips.

After your initial meeting you will then have an hour-long treatment with one of our hair loss directors for a hair and scalp treatment, which will include various products for your condition and hair type. The scalp and hair treatment may also include a blow-dry. Further appointments may be needed for ongoing treatment or a three month review.

Pictures will be taken in all of the consultations to keep a record of the pattern of hair loss and scalp condition, which will enable us to monitor progress and improvement. You can book a consultation by either calling us or by completing the form below.

[wpforms id="270"]

An hour consultation with a member of the team starts from £150, to be paid in advance when booking. Free consultations are available to cancer patients (hospital paperwork must be provided).
