Spring Clean Your Hair Routine with Davines Vegan Products Bournemouth Salon

Put away your duster, it's time to show yourself some self-love and make sure your hair tools and products are spit-spot!  If you're looking for a new hairstyle or colour for the new season, why not book an appointment at your favourite Westbourne hairdressers by calling 01202 760003!

1. Recycle Out Of Date Hair Products

Check the expiry dates on your shampoos and conditioners and recycle those that are out of date.  Hair sprays are less likely to deteriorate but do check all cream or liquid-based products in tubs and bottles.  Now you've got space, you can restock with fresh supplies of your favourite products, or find something new.   Head over to our online shop for inspiration, or pop into our Westbourne salon and we'll be happy to advise you.

2. Clean Your Hair Brushes

Regularly clear hair out of the bristles and wash your hair brushes every week using a cleansing shampoo to avoid brushing dirt and grease back into your hair!  If you use a wooden or paddle brush, check the manufacturer's guidelines on washing so you don't spoil the wood effect.

3. Wipe Clean Your Hair Straighteners

Curlers, hair straighteners and curling wands should also be cleaned regularly to get rid of dirt, sprays and serums.  Unplug your electrical tools and NEVER submerge them in water.  Use a damp cloth to clean the styling plates and make sure they are dry before you use them again.

4.  Check Your Hairdryer Filter

A blocked hairdryer filter can really affect how your dryer performs.  Check your manufacturer's instructions first and make sure your dryer is unplugged before twisting or unclipping the filter.  Do not force it - you do not want to break it.  Then wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.  Make sure it is completely dry before you switch it on again.

5.  Try A Silk Pillowcase

Make sure you wash and change your pillowcase regularly to avoid transferring grease and bacteria build up onto your hair and skin.  If you are feeling extravagant, why not invest in a silk pillowcase?  Dermatologists say that sleeping on a silky smooth surface will make your skin less prone to wrinkles too, so it's definitely worth a try!
